‘Honey Please’: Trump’s former daughter-in-law caught in crazy corruption scandal
Thessaloniki, Grækenland - 04. december 2025. Kimberly Guilfoyle, amerikansk ambassadør i Grækenland under et besøg i Thessaloniki

The US ambassador to Greece and former fiancée of Donald Trump Jr. was just caught in a massive corruption scandal.

The general public may not be familiar with Kimberly Guilfoyle, but she is a prominent figure in the MAGA world.

She first started dating Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., halfway through the president’s first term.

And while their engagement fell apart in 2024, she stayed in Trump’s orbit and eventually became the ambassador to Greece.

Now, serious allegations of rampant corruption and bribery have been brought forward against Guilfoyle.

Text messages show blatant corruption

The Wall Street Journal has been documenting how Kimberly Guilfoyle has been using her power as a United States diplomat to pressure the government in Greece to curry favor with the Trump administration.

Now, a more personal scandal has been uncovered. Text messages from 2025, right before she was confirmed as ambassador, show that Guilfoyle has been pressuring Eric Deters, a former congressional candidate in Kentucky, to send her money to cover personal expenses. In turn, Deters would get the ear of the Trump administration.

Apparently, Guilfoyle needed $100,000 to pay off an American Express debt. She was adamant that the transaction should not leave a paper trail.

“Honey, please, I need you to get this done for me today,” one of the text messages from Guilfoyle to Deters read. “You could just send it here. It won’t show up anywhere,” she wrote on July 3, 2025, just days before she was confirmed as ambassador.

Deters was an early MAGA supporter

Deters ultimately denied the $100,000 request, but they kept texting, with Guilfoyle warning Deters that this could easily be made public.

“Eric, I really wish you would stop papering all these things,” she wrote, using “paper” to mean a paper trail.

The text messages also show that Deters had sent Guilfoyle $300,000 already and that he was getting tired of not getting any favors from the administration. Here, Guilfoyle started to threaten him.

“If you write an email or a text about it, I’m gonna kill you ’cause I love you but you’re so out of control,” she wrote.

Before running for office, Eric Deters was a radio host in Ohio who was a very vocal Trump supporter. The WSJ reports that the two have known each other since 2020, but their relationship has evolved since 2024 after she promised him access to FBI Director Kash Patel and former Attorney General Pam Bondi.

A MAGA icon

A US embassy official has disputed the authenticity of the text messages without providing other evidence. The official also says that “Guilfoyle’s career in and out of public service is guided by deep and abiding values.”

Guilfoyle became the unofficial second lady of the MAGA movement when she started a relationship with Trump Jr. and later became engaged to him. Before that, she had been married to Democratic Governor in California, Gavin Newsom.

After Trump was ousted in 2020, she tried to parlay that notoriety into several business ventures, including a vodka and champagne company called “American Dream” for which she sought a $2 million investment. The company was dissolved shortly thereafter.

Trump then nominated her for the US ambassadorship to Greece even though she has had very little political experience and has not held any office.

More and more allegations of corruption in the Trump administration

This is just the latest story in a long line of corruption scandals and allegations within the Trump administration.

Howard Lutnick has doubled his personal fortune to over $7 billion since joining the Trump administration.

Likewise, Trump and his sons’ cryptocurrency business is soaring, and Trump Jr. has had no-bid military contract loans expedited in the Pentagon.
