Another issue has struck the royal family.
Prince Harry’s long-running effort to rebuild ties with the Royal Family may face a fresh obstacle this summer, as uncertainty surrounds a possible meeting with King Charles during his upcoming visit to Britain.
The Duke of Sussex is expected to return to the UK in July as preparations continue for the 2027 Invictus Games. Behind the scenes, reports suggest Harry has been hoping to spend time privately with his father while he is in the country. Whether that will happen remains unclear.
Plans reportedly left in limbo
According to Express, discussions about a potential reunion have stalled, with sources claiming no date has been agreed for a meeting between father and son.
Harry is said to have explored the possibility of visiting Sandringham, although reports indicate any plans would depend on who else was present. Security concerns are also believed to remain a major factor, particularly regarding the prospect of bringing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to Britain.
Questions surrounding security arrangements have been a recurring issue since Harry stepped back from royal duties and relocated to the United States.
Concerns over trust
Reports suggest King Charles has become increasingly cautious following media comments attributed to a friend of Harry earlier this year.
That alleged shift in attitude has fuelled speculation that efforts to repair relations between the pair may not be progressing as smoothly as hoped.
One source quoted in reports described the situation by saying: “After all these months of discussing this visit as though it was guaranteed to be happening, the conversation has now drastically shifted and Harry is getting the run-around.”
The source further claimed that royal aides have so far declined to commit to a date and have not provided details of the King’s schedule.
Invictus visit still expected
Despite the uncertainty surrounding a potential family meeting, Harry is still expected to travel to Britain in connection with preparations for the next Invictus Games.
The sporting event, founded by Harry in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans, remains one of the projects most closely associated with the Duke.
Whether the trip will also provide an opportunity for a private royal reconciliation remains unknown. Another source quoted in reports said: “It’s a total nightmare [for him]. He’s devoted so much time and energy to building a bridge with his father and now it’s all looking like it might have been for naught.”
