Lebron had no time for the president’s shenanigans after Trump attacked him online and during a speech.
Sometimes it is hard to figure out why Trump has turned his ire on specific people.
Last night, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to go after a basketball star for something he allegedly did during the national anthem before his game.
But the NBA legend was quick to fire back at the president without giving him more fuel to ignite a feud.
‘A TOTAL DISGRACE’
It seems that his assistant, the “human printer” Natalie Harp, showed Trump a video of LeBron James warming up during the singing of the national anthem.
“While listening to our National Anthem, LeBron James disrespects our Country! I said right from the beginning that he’s no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, accompanied by the video.

Then last night on the campaign trail, Trump tried to further stoke the culture war flame between him and the great power forward who now plays in his 24th NBA season for the Philadelphia 76ers.
While talking about the fictitious culture war issue Republicans love to bring up about men playing in women’s sports, Trump pivoted to James’ video he had just seen hours earlier.
“And what about LeBron James? During the national anthem, he’s practicing his golf swing. What the hell is that? No, it’s a big scandal kind of a story. What’s it all about? I don’t understand it,” Trump said to deafening silence.

LeBron James responds to Trump
After LeBron James and his 76ers were done playing their second game of the season, a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-106, “King” James was asked in a media scrum in the locker room what he thought about Trump’s attack on him.
“Slow news day at the office. You know, must be a slow day in the office,” James answered dryly.

LeBron James has a storied career in the NBA with four championships to show for it, along with three Olympic gold medals. He also holds the NBA scoring title and is arguably the best basketball player ever—only rivaled by Michael Jordan.
Not the first time LeBron James claps back at him
However, Trump at least considers Michael Jordan the best basketball player ever on the grounds that he regularly plays golf with him.
“Michael Jordan is a guy that’s a friend of mine. I play golf with him. He’s a really good guy… I think LeBron is, maybe he’s a racist, but maybe he doesn’t like Trump […] I only like people who like me, so I would say Michael Jordan all the way,” Trump said when asked to pick between the two players.

It is not the first time that LeBron James has delivered a sharp comeback to the president.
Back in Trump’s first term, after the two of them got into a name-calling situation, James responded with a vicious nickname for him.
“I called him a bum. YOU BUM. It’s not a name call, it’s a… YOU BUM! My friends and I call each other that all the time. I’m not his friend though, I don’t wanna see that on the note, he’s not my friend!”
