The top diplomat held nothing back.
Health fads often sweep through high-stress workplaces.
They turn quiet lunch breaks into intense debates over nutrition and discipline. When top government officials share a table, those dietary divides can become painfully obvious.
Now, one senior cabinet member has made it very clear he wants no part of his colleague’s strict new eating plan.
A crazy diet
Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently shared his unfiltered thoughts on the eating habits of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by Katie Miller and cited by Huffpost, the top diplomat held nothing back. He firmly rejected the popular wellness trend.
Kennedy follows a highly specific meal plan consisting mostly of meat and fermented foods. The daily regimen relies heavily on steak and sauerkraut.
HuffPost reports that several prominent political figures have already adopted the routine. But Rubio refuses to join the club.
Travelling with coolers
“This is a crazy diet,” Rubio stated during the interview. “This is a diet that consists of eating sauerkraut and meat.”
He argued the routine simply demands too much effort. “He has to travel with coolers of sauerkraut,” Rubio explained to the host.
The secretary of state noted his own busy travel schedule makes such a habit impossible. “I’m not gonna travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It’s ridiculous! I can’t do it. It’s not sustainable for me,” he said.
The foil pack
Rubio did claim he supports the general push for better national health. “I’m in favor of MAHA. Like I think people should be healthy,” he noted.
His wife, Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio, quickly interrupted the broadcast to correct the record. “No, he is not. He is completely not,” she fired back.
She revealed her husband eats terribly and absolutely loves fast food. The official then freely admitted his deep obsession with sweet breakfast pastries.
“The Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in the history of the world,” Rubio argued. He praised the morning snack because “it comes in this beautiful foil pack.”
A psychotic event
He then recalled a past attempt to cut out carbohydrates using the keto method. The initial three days triggered a severe reaction.
“It was a near-psychotic event for me,” he confessed.
He joked that attempting such a strict regimen while managing global diplomacy could spark an international crisis. “We must bomb, you know, Paraguay, and, it’s like, why? I don’t know. I’m just really mad,” he admitted.
