The two men had a severe falling out in May 2025.

Relationships at the highest levels of power are notoriously fragile.

They often snap over the tiniest disagreements. But even spectacular public feuds can heal overnight when a new shared interest emerges.

An unexpected reunion

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are publicly celebrating each other again. The two men had a severe falling out in May 2025, according to the Irish Star. Now, those bitter feelings appear to be gone.

Their renewed friendship centers on a sudden rebranding of a major technology. The American president recently signed a sweeping executive order aimed at overhauling how government agencies talk about computer systems.

This mandate, titled “Inaugurating The Era of Super Intelligence,” forces federal departments to abandon the term Artificial Intelligence. Moving forward, the government must use Super Intelligence, or SI.

Showing public support

Musk quickly backed the White House initiative on his social media platform. Writing on X, the tech billionaire declared, “No more AI SI it’s better.”

That short message immediately caught the president’s eye. Trump took a screenshot of the tech mogul’s post and proudly shared it on his Truth Social network.

He left the image completely uncaptioned. The president simply let the glowing endorsement speak for itself.

Fans loved the exchange. The post quickly racked up over 5,000 likes and hundreds of supportive comments.

The war on words

Trump despises the traditional terminology because he thinks it sounds counterfeit. He made his feelings perfectly clear during a recent speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

“The use of the word artificial makes intelligence sound fake. It is not fake. It’s actually amazing,” he told the international delegates.

His political base has enthusiastically embraced the new vocabulary. One Truth Social user commented, “If you aren’t calling it Super Intelligence, you are Artificially Intelligent.”

Another supporter celebrated the shift. The user shared, “A.I. gives consent for BS. S.I. is real intelligence!!! We left the imposters in the DUST!!!”

A tough sell ahead

Despite the loud online cheering, the broader public is unlikely to ditch a phrase they have used for decades. The Irish Star notes that academics have relied on the AI label since the 1950s.

Scientists and researchers have virtually no incentive to adopt a sudden political rebrand. It remains a massive hurdle for the administration.

Federal contractors might start saying SI to win lucrative government favor. Everyday citizens, however, will probably just stick to the familiar acronym they already know and trust.
