A senior U.S. Navy officer has claimed his crew witnessed a massive unidentified underwater object racing through the ocean at around 200mph.

The startling testimony adds to growing reports of unidentified submerged objects, or USOs, being investigated by the Pentagon and Congress.
A UFO like no other

Congressman Tim Burchett revealed the account as part of a congressional probe into unexplained aerial and underwater phenomena.
“A very high-ranking member of the Navy described some underwater experiences with something that was doing 200mph underwater,” he said. “It was as big as a football field. That’s no fish.”
Too fast for human technology

Burchett told U.S. television that no man-made craft could reach such underwater speeds.
“Not with our technology, no,” he said. “The best we have is probably in the high 30s.”

His remarks suggest that whatever was seen moved nearly six times faster than the most advanced military submarines or torpedoes.
Mystery beneath the waves

According to Burchett, these encounters occurred in “very deep water areas,” making them even harder to explain.
Officials are now examining reports of Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs) alongside flying UFOs, suggesting that unexplained technology might be operating both in the sky and under the sea.
Could it be secret military tech?

Burchett dismissed the idea that these objects might belong to any known defence program.
“Why would we risk multi-million-dollar apparatus? Why would we put something in the air around our best pilots that could have a crash?” he asked. “It would be stupid.”
Navy veteran backs up the story

The claims echo those of Bob McGwire, a professor and intelligence officer who once worked aboard the USS Hampton.
He said he experienced a similar encounter while on duty, hearing “something whizzing by” the submarine at speeds faster than sound.
Faster than physics allows

The USS Hampton’s sonar allegedly tracked the unidentified object travelling faster than the speed of sound through water, a feat no torpedo or known craft can achieve.
“The sub’s sonar picked it up. It blew by us,” McGwire said.
He stressed that it wasn’t part of any U.S. experiment or secret project.
Kept secret for 30 years

McGwire said he kept the incident secret for decades due to the classified nature of his naval work.
“It is mine to tell whoever I want. They blew it,” he said, referring to the Navy’s failure to properly document the event.
He only came forward when the Pentagon began its probe into hundreds of UFO and USO reports.
The sound that defied logic

He recalled how “a person with knowledge of onboard systems” confirmed something had sped past their submarine “faster than the speed of sound.”
The engagement lasted only seconds but was so distinct that everyone on board felt the shockwave.
The USS Omaha encounter

The story gained traction after a 2019 video surfaced showing the USS Omaha tracking a glowing orb off the coast of San Diego.
The object hovered briefly, then plunged into the water, disappearing completely.
“Wow, it splashed,” a crew member can be heard shouting in the footage.
A growing mystery for the Pentagon

The Pentagon is now examining over 800 unexplained encounters, including those beneath the ocean.
Both McGwire and Burchett argue that these sightings prove humans may not be alone, or that unknown technology is operating in Earth’s most remote environments.
