Netanyahu fumbles, survey finds 86% of Israelis view conflict outcome negatively

A new survey suggests that a large majority of Israelis view the recent conflict with Iran as a setback for Israel, with many respondents expressing doubts about the war’s outcome and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership.

The findings point to growing public skepticism over the effectiveness of the military campaign and its impact on national security.

Negative verdict

According to HotNews, citing Agerpres and DPA, 92% of respondents said they believe Iran emerged victorious from the war launched by Israel and the United States on February 28.

The survey also found that 86% of Israelis view the outcome of the conflict negatively.

Meanwhile, 83% said the campaign has weakened Israel’s long-term security rather than strengthened it.

Doubts over success

According to HotNews, citing Agerpres and DPA, 73% of respondents disagreed with Netanyahu’s claim that Israel achieved significant results and removed an existential threat.

In addition, 88% said Israel either failed to accomplish its objectives or only partially achieved them.

The survey found that 56% of Israelis believe Netanyahu mishandled the military campaign.

Survey details

The poll was conducted by the Hebrew University in cooperation with the Agam Institute between June 17 and June 20.

According to HotNews, citing Agerpres and DPA, the survey was based on a representative sample of 3,644 Israelis aged 17 and older.
