What is happening?

Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy has hinted that new Ukrainian long-range strikes against Russia are being planned.

Update on the Russian Summer Offensive

Russia launched it’s Summer Offensive in the beginning of May, and the Russian forces have made som progress.

That being said, analysts suggest the Russian advances are nowhere near what the Russian command hoped to gain.

“We see the enemy’s intentions”

In a post on X, Volodomyr Zelenskyy said:

“We see the enemy’s intentions and attempts to advance offensive operations, and it is important that each of these attempts falters thanks to the resilience of our units and active defense.”

Russia’s army falls short

Zelenskyy then added, that the Russian army has fallen short of the expectations of the Russian command.

New long-range strikes coming?

The most intriguing part of the post is a simple sentence, that could have a huge impact on the war:

“We are preparing our new long-range strikes,” Zelenskyy said.

Operation Spiderweb 2.0?

It is unclear what kind of long-range strikes, Zelenskyy is referring to, but on June 1st 2025, Ukrainian special forces carried out a historic operation called “Operation Spiderweb”.

Sealed drones strike 4300 km in Russian territory

After more than 18 months of planning, Ukraine managed to deploy 117 drones hidden in trucks deep in Russian territory.

The outcome was a devastating strike on Russia’s aerial capabilities, as about 20 Russian military aircrafts was hit, ten of which was destroyed.

Patriots coming to Ukraine?

Early Monday morning European Time, US President Donald Trump confirmed that Ukraine will get more long-range Patriot missiles for the Patriot Missile Systems.

The systems are meant to protect the Ukrainian population against the increased intensity of Russian air strikes.
