Polish farmers' protest causes disruptions to truck traffic at a key checkpoint on the Ukrainian border.

Trending Now

At approximately 11:10 today, Polish farmers began their protest, effectively blocking truck traffic at the Korczowa checkpoint, which links to Ukraine's Krakivets checkpoint on Polish territory.

The State Border Guard Service relayed a notice from Polish border guards, that this blockade might cause delays for vehicles both entering and exiting Poland.

The protest has led to a bottleneck, with around 1,730 trucks lined up in Poland, waiting to cross into Ukraine.

There are no plans to obstruct the traffic of buses and cars.

The Krakivets-Korczowa checkpoint is now the sixth on the Ukrainian-Polish border to experience a halt in truck traffic due to protests.

There's no indication of how long this blockade might last.

The Border Guard Service is advising those affected to plan accordingly, taking the ongoing blockade into consideration for their travel and transport plans.
