Rohan Dennis, the former double world time trial champion, has been embroiled in a terrible case in Australia.
According to several Australian media outlets, including 10 News First and 7NEWS, Dennis was arrested in Medindie, a suburb of Adelaide.
The media reports state that his wife, Melissa, was hit by a car driven by Dennis. She sustained serious injuries and later died en route to the hospital on Sunday morning, Australian time, as reported by 10 News First.
7NEWS reports that Rohan Dennis is charged with killing his wife due to reckless driving, dangerous driving, and endangering life.
He has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court in March.
Melissa Hoskins, Dennis's wife, was also a former cyclist who achieved several significant results in various World Tour events.
Rohan Dennis had announced his retirement from active cycling after this season.
