Russian President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the critical importance of the situation surrounding Ukraine, describing it as a matter of life and death for Russia, a sentiment not shared to the same extent by the West.

These remarks were made in light of Putin's interview with U.S. journalist Tucker Carlson.

During a conversation with Pavel Zarubin, a journalist from the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Putin highlighted the need to convey to both Russian and international audiences the depth of Russia's concern regarding developments in Ukraine.

"For the West, this issue may be about enhancing their tactical positioning, but for us, it's about our very fate, a matter of life and death," Putin stated according to Tass.

He expressed a desire for viewers of his interview with Carlson to understand the gravity of the situation from Russia's perspective.

Putin refrained from assessing the impact of his message, leaving it to others to judge whether his points were effectively communicated.
