A member of the US Secret Service has been placed on leave after allegedly revealing sensitive information about Vice President JD Vance during what he believed was a personal date.
The incident has triggered an internal investigation.
According to a video posted on January 13 by the O’Keefe Media Group, the agent met a woman at a crowded restaurant, believing she was a potential romantic interest.
The woman, later identified as an undercover journalist, asked questions off-camera while the agent discussed his work. At one point, he reportedly handed over his Secret Service identification badge to confirm his role.
In the clip, the woman can be heard asking, “can I see your badge again, with your photo,” before adding, “you’re so cute.”

Such disclosures raised immediate concerns within the agency.
