The Marvel Cinematic Universe may soon see a new addition to its star-studded cast, with three-time Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal in talks to take on the role of Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, in Marvel Studios' much-anticipated "Fantastic Four."

Although the deal is not finalized, inside sources report that negotiations are progressing positively.

Pascal, known for his diverse range of roles, is currently juggling a packed schedule.

His commitments include the upcoming "Gladiator 2," set to start production later this year, and the popular HBO series "The Last Of Us," with filming expected next year. Additionally, he is involved in Zach Cregger’s upcoming project, "Weapons."

Marvel Studios has yet to issue a statement regarding these developments.

The casting of other characters in the "Fantastic Four" team will likely accelerate following the decision on who will play Reed Richards.

The film's production is expected to commence early next year, with Matt Shakman at the helm in pre-production at Pinewood Studios in England. Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, will oversee the production.

Pascal's recent career highlights include his Emmy-nominated performance in "The Last of Us," and his well-received hosting of an episode of "Saturday Night Live." He is currently represented by CAA.
