Joliet, Illinois, became the scene of a multi-location tragedy. Eight individuals were discovered shot and killed across three different sites over two days.

According to CBS News, the prime suspect in these slayings, identified as 23-year-old Romeo Nance, was later found dead in Texas, 1,200 miles away from Joliet, in what is suspected to be a case of suicide.

The initial discovery was made on a Monday when Joliet police, notified by the Will County Sheriff's office, found several deceased individuals in two houses located in the 2200 block of West Acres Road.

These victims, all fatally shot, were found in proximity to significant local landmarks such as the Ascension St. Joseph Hospital and Joliet West High School.

Joliet Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported via his Telegram channel that among the victims in the city's Solomianskyi district was a 13-year-old boy, who was treated on the spot. In total, seven people in two houses in this area were shot dead. Additionally, a missile strike in the Sviatoshynskyi district resulted in parked cars catching fire and a non-residential building being engulfed in flames.

This tragedy extended to the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast's Pavlohrad, where a massive missile strike resulted in further casualties. Governor Serhii Lysak confirmed the death of at least one person and one injury in this attack.

Kharkiv also suffered under the Russian offensive, with Governor Oleh Syniehubov reporting early morning attacks that damaged civilian infrastructure. A high-rise residential building in Kharkiv's Kyivskyi district was hit, trapping people under the rubble.

These attacks, causing significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, deeply affected numerous civilians and their properties. Rescue and emergency services are actively working on site, grappling with the aftermath of these devastating events.
