President Donald Trump took to social media with accusations after the leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea appeared together at a military parade in Beijing.
Trump Points Finger at Beijing Military Parade
U.S. President Donald Trump ignited controversy Tuesday night with a claim that China, Russia, and North Korea are “conspiring” against the United States.
This statement follows a rare public appearance by the three nations’ leaders at a military parade in Beijing.
Immediate Backlash
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote:
“May President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a wonderful and lasting holiday. Please convey my warmest wishes to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un as they conspire against the United States of America.”
The statement, posted during China’s commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, has sparked immediate backlash and requests for clarification from the White House, according to CNN, as quoted by News.ro.
A Parade — and a Political Message?
The Beijing military parade, presided over by Chinese President Xi Jinping, featured a highly symbolic and rare moment: Xi standing alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
It marked the first time the three appeared together publicly.
While the Chinese government framed the parade as a tribute to the end of WWII, Trump reportedly saw it as a coordinated threat.
“Will Xi Acknowledge American Sacrifice?”
In a follow-up post, Trump also questioned whether Xi would recognize America’s historic role in helping China repel Japanese forces during World War II.
“The big question that needs to be answered is whether or not President Xi of China will mention the massive support and ‘blood’ that the United States of America gave to China to help secure its freedom from a very unfriendly foreign invader,” Trump wrote.
A History of Support
“Many Americans died in China’s fight for Victory and Glory. I hope they are properly honored and remembered for their Courage and Sacrifice!”
During WWII, U.S. forces provided substantial military and financial support to Chinese forces in their resistance against Imperial Japan. This historical point Trump is now leveraging in the current geopolitical climate.
White House Yet to Respond
As of now, the Biden administration has not responded to requests for clarification regarding Trump’s accusation that China, Russia, and North Korea are actively conspiring against the U.S.
While it’s unclear whether the comment was made as a political provocation or a genuine intelligence-based concern, it comes at a time of heightened tension between the U.S. and all three countries.
