Beyond human casualties, the Ukrainian report details massive equipment losses on the Russian side, including:

• 11,156 tanks
• 23,233 armored fighting vehicles
• 60,488 vehicles and fuel tanks

Artillery, Aircraft, and Drone Destruction

The war has also seen high-tech military hardware decimated. According to Ukraine, Russia has lost:

• 32,301 artillery systems
• 1,477 rocket systems
• 1,213 air defense units
• 422 aircraft
• 341 helicopters
• 55,446 drones

Russia’s Naval Losses

While much of the conflict has played out on land and in the air, Ukraine also claims success at sea. Reported Russian naval losses include:

• 1 submarine

Year-on-Year Surge in Reported Deaths

Earlier in January 2025, Ukrainian forces had estimated Russian troop losses at 874,560. The new total reflects a staggering increase of over 209,000 in less than nine months.
