“We exercise together and by exercising together and being more ready to fight, we deter better together,” he told The Telegraph.

While underlining Britain’s willingness to engage if necessary, Healey stressed the UK’s preference for diplomacy.
“In general terms, we want to resolve disputes peacefully,” he said, adding that military preparedness serves as a key deterrent against aggression.
