Royal watchers quickly noticed the absence, prompting questions about why a close relative did not attend the Westminster Abbey event.

Family support shown

According to the Daily Express, the Princess of Wales hosted her recent carol concert at Westminster Abbey, with the service centred on celebrating love in its many forms.

Catherine was joined by her husband, Prince William, their children, and her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, who attended despite wet and windy conditions.

Her brother, James Middleton, also supported the princess, arriving with his wife, Alizee.

Missing sister

One notable absentee was Catherine’s sister, Pippa Matthews, a regular attendee at the carol service in previous years.

The sisters are known to be extremely close, making Pippa’s absence a surprise to many royal fans.

While Pippa did not publicly explain why she missed the service, the reason has since become clear, notes the DailyExpress

Overseas weekend

The Daily Express reported that Pippa, 42, was in Abu Dhabi over the weekend with her husband, James Matthews, 50.

The couple were seen attending the Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday, an appearance linked to James’s background as a former professional racing driver and his role as a board member of the Williams F1 team.

Their overseas trip coincided with the timing of Catherine’s carol concert in London.
