Andrey Bogdanov, a nominee from the Russian Party of Freedom and Justice, who earlier today submitted signatures to the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC), has written a statement withdrawing from the presidential race.

This was reported by the Central Election Commission according to Ura News.

"Bogdanov has written a statement to exit the presidential race," reports the CEC of the Russian Federation to RIA Novosti. The candidate had previously successfully submitted voter signatures to the Central Election Commission.

On January 30th, Sergey Baburin, the leader of the Russian All-People's Union party, also withdrew from the electoral race.

He made this decision after submitting signatures in support of his candidacy for the 2024 Russian presidential election to the CEC. He endorsed the candidacy of Vladimir Putin.

Bogdanov explained his decision to withdraw from the Russian presidential election by recalling an undisclosed foreign account.
