A fresh hint of what’s next for Hollow Knight: Silksong has emerged, though fans hoping for a firm release window may need to stay patient.
Team Cherry has acknowledged that new content is underway, offering only a glimpse of its direction.
The studio’s comments came during an interview with Bloomberg, where the developers discussed their approach to expanding an already massive game.
Early signals
Team Cherry co-founders Ari Gibson and William Pellen told Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier that the team has begun building additional material for Silksong.
They stressed that they do not intend for development to drag on, even while maintaining a creative process that can naturally extend timelines.

The pair avoided predicting when the DLC might arrive, reflecting on the seven-year creation cycle behind Silksong itself.
They did, however, confirm that the Steel Assassin, a character previewed in an earlier trailer but absent from the main game, will play a role in the upcoming content.
In the interview, Schreier asked whether the developers envisioned updates closer to the smaller Lifeblood patch or major additions such as Godmaster and The Grimm Troupe.
Scaling the expansion
Gibson responded that players could expect additions of varying size, noting that large-scale content similar to Godmaster remained a possibility.
He acknowledged strong community interest in revisiting boss challenges and pantheon-style arenas, describing the current roster of foes as “already a huge number of them.”

Pellen added that the studio had begun experimenting without a fixed scope, saying the team was “just started making new stuff and working on bits and pieces.”
Both stressed they remain immersed in Silksong’s world and focused on finding material players will enjoy.
Gibson said one ongoing challenge is determining how to expand a game already dense with systems and secrets, especially in a way that does not overwhelm newcomers.
He hinted that some content might be intentionally tucked away so the base experience remains approachable.
Game still thriving
According to Bloomberg, Silksong continues to rank among Steam’s most-played titles following its September 4 launch, keeping pace with other major releases.
