Texas Governor, Gregg Abbott, is deploying the Texas National Guard to multiple locations ahead of planned protests in the state this weekend.
Law and order
A statement from Abbot’s office sent to KSAT confirmed the deployment and explained that the Guards objective will be to “uphold law and order”.
“Fabric of our nation, but…”
The statement added:
“Peaceful protests are part of the fabric of our nation, but Texas will not tolerate the lawlessness we have seen in Los Angeles. Anyone engaging in acts of violence or damaging property will be swiftly held accountable to the full extent of the law.”

According to ABC News, Abbot said that the Texas National Guard would “use every tool and strategy to help law enforcement maintin order”.
