A photo of what appears to show U.S. Vice President JD Vance shouting at his wife has gone viral.
Now the VP has responded.
Viral photo fuels rumours
The unverified image, circulated widely on social media, appeared to show Vance in a white T-shirt leaning forward with an angry expression, while a woman resembling his wife, Usha, sat opposite him with her head in her hands.
Critics suggested the couple were arguing in a restaurant, with one Facebook user claiming the row was “loud enough to quiet the restaurant.”
Others mocked Vance’s casual outfit, quipping that he looked “straight out of the 1950s.”

Some online users, however, questioned the picture’s authenticity, noting features that seemed AI-generated.
Vance responds
Vance addressed the rumours on X, writing sarcastically:
“I always wear an undershirt when I go out in public to have a fight loudly with my wife.”
His post appeared to shut down the claim that the photo depicted a real argument.
The VP and his wife have been the subject of persistent scrutiny in recent months.

Questions intensified after Vance shared a prolonged embrace with Erika Kirk — widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk — at a public event.
Erika later said she saw “some similarities” between her late husband and Vance, comments that drew further attention.
Meanwhile, Usha has been photographed without her wedding ring on several occasions.
A spokesperson previously told People that she is “a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”
“Our marriage is as strong as it’s ever been”
Vance told NBC News last week that the couple simply “get a kick out of” the online rumours.
