What is happening?
According to severel reports, Iranian TV-stations were hacked last night.
Women cutting their hair
Instead of the planned broadcasting, pictures of women cutting their hair in protest against the regime and pictures of citizens protesting in the streets, ran across screens all over Iran.
Calls to rise up
The pictures was accompagnied by a female voice and subtitles as well as written messages, calling for the Iranian people to rise up against the Iranian leadership.
The 2022 protests
The message broadcasted by the hackers contained videoclips from the mass protests against the Iranian government that happened in 2022.
They were sparked by the death of a woman held by the Iranian morality police, called The Guidance Patrol.
She was arrested for not wearing her hijab in accordance with government standards.
Who did it?
Iranian state TV later warned viewers, that the pictures shows was “due to cyberattacks carried out by the Zionist enemy”.
The hacking allegedly was made possible by disrupting satellite signals.
Israel silent, but …
Israel has not reacted to the allegations made by Iranian state TV, but the Israel United Nations spokesperson also shared a clip of the television disruption.
Israel revealing endgame plans?
Since attacking a number of Iranian nuclear facilites and high ranking military commanders on Friday last week, Israel has emphazised that their aim is to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons.
However, it looks like Israel wants more than that.
Netanyahu speaking directly to Iranians
In an interview done in Hebrew, that was aired Wednesday, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said of the Iranian people overthrowing the regime:
“In the end, they have to rise up themselves, but we are creating the conditions”.
“A clear path”
Just hours after launching the initial attacks, Netanyahu released a video in English, adressing the Iranian population directly.
He said, that the attacks would “clear the path for you to achieve your freedom”.
Fighting the regime, not Iran
Netanyahu emphazised that the Israeli fight was with the Iranian regime, not the Iranian people.
“This is your opportunity to stand up and let your voices be heard,” he said.
