President Donald Trump recently dispatched Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Russia for a critical mission. The envoys traveled there on Saturday to negotiate with Vladimir Putin about ending the war in Ukraine.
But according to RawStory their choice of ground transport is now drawing incredibly heavy fire from seasoned security professionals. Reports indicate the American representatives accepted a ride in an official Russian government vehicle to reach their destination.
This seemingly simple logistical decision raised immediate and massive red flags back in the United States. Experts warn that sitting inside a foreign state car practically guarantees a digital sweep of their personal devices.

Speaking on CNN with Erin Burnett, retired Army Major General Randy Manner blasted the American envoys. He detailed how foreign operatives routinely exploit these exact vulnerabilities.
“It’s important for your listeners to understand that the Russians have the ability that, if you get within a certain number of feet of a device that would be included in that vehicle, they can take everything off of your phone and copy it without you even knowing it,” Manner told CNN.
The retired officer stressed the severe depth of the potential data breach. He pointed out that a quick, quiet car ride is all it takes for hostile agents to harvest highly classified personal information.
“All your contacts, all your messages, all your emails, everything, can then belong to the Russians,” the military expert noted during the television broadcast.
