Just Three Days

Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has issued a stark warning about Vladimir Putin’s ambitions, claiming Moldova could be overrun in just three days if the West fails to act.
In an interview with Antena 3 CNN, Kasyanov painted a grim picture of Putin’s mindset, rooted in KGB doctrine and imperial nostalgia.
What Drives Putin’s Invasions

Kasyanov, who served as Russia’s first prime minister under Putin, insists the Kremlin leader has remained a KGB agent at heart.

“He acts on what he was trained to do, restore influence over former Soviet territories,” he said.
From Georgia to Crimea to Donbas, Kasyanov claims Putin seizes whatever the West lets him take.
“Putin Wants Everything the West Allows Him to Have”

The former PM argues that Putin’s expansionism is opportunistic, not impulsive. “He dreams of taking everything the West tolerates,” said Kasyanov.
He accused the Russian president of twisting international law for personal power and using tragedies, like the 2004 Beslan massacre, to justify dismantling democratic institutions.
“We Must Stop Pretending Both Sides Are to Blame”

Kasyanov stressed the need for unity in supporting Ukraine, calling it a frontline defence of European democracy.
“This is not a war with two equal sides,” he insisted.
“Ukraine is defending its sovereignty and our shared values. We must stop suggesting that both parties are equally responsible.”
Transnistria, Odessa… Then Moldova?

According to Kasyanov, Putin’s next moves are alarmingly clear. “If nothing changes, he’ll go from Kherson to Odessa, then Transnistria. Moldova will be taken in three days,” he warned.

“Only Pressure Will Bring Putin to the Table”

Kasyanov believes pressure from the EU and U.S. is the only way to halt Putin’s ambitions.
“He feels strong militarily and economically. But cracks are forming,” he said.
With continued economic strain and diplomatic unity, Putin may eventually be forced into a real negotiation—but only if the West acts now.
“Your Security Is on the Line”

Kasyanov praised Romania’s recent presidential elections and emphasized its critical role in Europe’s security architecture.
“Romania is a strong NATO and EU member. Supporting Ukraine isn’t just solidarity, it’s national security,” he said, urging continued Romanian leadership in resisting Russian aggression.
