Russian soldiers have been filmed flying both the Russian and US flags during an attack in Ukraine.

The footage shows the flags attached to an American armored vehicle captured from Ukrainian forces.

Russian troops used the flag stunt to send a clear message.

US armored vehicle used in Zaporizhzhia assault

The vehicle used in the assault was an American M113 taken from Ukrainian forces.

Russian troops drove it while attacking Mala Tokmachka, a village in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Both Russian and American flags were flying from the top of the vehicle during the battle.

Pro-Kyiv voices call the stunt a warning

Petro Andryushchenko, a Ukrainian official, said Russia is now treating the US as an open ally.

A blogger called Igor Sushko warned that this was a “wake-up call.”

They both said the flag stunt was a dangerous signal of how Russia views the outcome of the Alaska summit.

On the same day as the flag incident, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky prepared to meet Trump at the White House.

Many expect a tense meeting. Trump recently said Ukraine will not get back one key area of land, which was seen as a big loss for Zelensky.
