One that has helped place Trump at the center of ongoing peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

But signs of strain may now be emerging. Trump’s arrest of Maduro has hurt Russia’s economy, and a recent attack on an American company operating in Ukraine could add further pressure.

Attack in dnipro

Russian forces carried out a drone strike on an industrial facility in the city of Dnipro, Ukrainian officials said.

The site belongs to Bunge, a major American agricultural producer operating in the country.

Dnipro mayor Borys Filatov reported that the attack caused a massive spill of vegetable oil.

According to his account, around 300 tons of oil flowed onto city streets following the strike.

Municipal workers were deployed to limit the impact. Authorities said sand and special mixtures were used to secure affected areas and reduce hazards for residents and drivers.

“As a result of a drone attack, 300 tons of oil spilled on the Dnieper roads! Municipal workers are cleaning up, pouring out sand and mixture, but traffic on Naberezhnaya Street will be impossible for about 2-3 days,” Filatov wrote on Telegram.

American-owned target

Filatov said the facility was targeted because it is owned by an American company.

He emphasized that the strike hit U.S. property operating on Ukrainian territory.

Bunge is headquartered in St. Louis and has maintained a presence in Ukraine despite the ongoing war, with facilities in several regions of the country.

Bunge operations

Interfax-Ukraine reported that Bunge-Ukraine operates two oil extraction plants.

Its largest complex is located in Dnipro, where it produces vegetable oil sold under the Oleyna brand.

The company also runs a modern processing plant in Mykolaiv that handles sunflower seeds and soybeans. In addition, Bunge has business operations in Kharkiv.
