Ukrainian MiG-29s have taken out a key Russian drone command center and nearby depot in a precision strike, crippling Moscow’s surveillance and supply operations in southern Ukraine.
Ukraine has ramped up its campaign to disrupt Russian military infrastructure, delivering a major blow to enemy forces with a high-impact aerial strike deep behind the front lines.
The operation targeted a Russian drone command center near Zaporizhzhia and resulted in the destruction of both the hub and an adjacent arms depot.
Precision Strike Hits Drone Command and Supply Hub
The attack was carried out by Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jets, which launched Western-supplied guided missiles at the UAV control facility.
A reconnaissance drone filmed the strike, later shared on social media, showing black smoke followed by a massive fireball engulfing the area.
Alongside the drone base, Ukrainian forces hit an ammunition and fuel depot positioned nearby. The resulting explosions were visible from afar and confirmed by Ukrainian sources as a deliberate effort to disrupt Russia’s battlefield coordination and logistics.
Undermining Russian Capabilities
By targeting the drone command hub, Ukraine has weakened Russia’s aerial reconnaissance and loitering munitions capabilities.
UAVs have played a central role in Russian targeting operations, and their loss limits the army’s real-time battlefield intelligence.
Destroying fuel and ammunition stores also hampers Russia’s ability to sustain operations along the front, forcing resupply routes to be rerouted and adding strain to an already stretched logistics chain.
The strikes reflect a broader Ukrainian strategy to undermine Russia’s operational depth and hit vulnerable rear positions.
As Kyiv continues its aerial offensive, such precision attacks are becoming increasingly vital in disrupting Russian momentum.
