Zelensky shared the serious update during a press conference in Kyiv

When neighboring nations share a tense border, even minor electronic installations can quickly spark a major international crisis.

Monitoring a frontier requires constant vigilance from military commanders on both sides.

Now, a hidden network of surveillance gear has triggered a high-stakes standoff with a strict deadline.

A strict ultimatum

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy just delivered a sharp one-week warning to Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. The demand calls for the immediate removal of specific military gear used by Russian forces to launch strikes.

Zelenskyy shared the serious update during a press conference in Kyiv while standing next to Honduran President Nasry Asfura. According to Suspilne News, the leader warned that his military will destroy the equipment directly if Belarus ignores the seven-day timeline.

The electronics sit directly on border towers stretching across two Ukrainian regions. Ukrainian intelligence officials discovered that these signal repeaters actively track targets and direct artillery fire against local civilian towns.

Turning off the gear

The discovery completely contradicts public claims from Minsk that the country remains entirely neutral in the ongoing conflict. Zelenskyy made it clear that actions must now match those words.

“On his towers, there are repeaters, Russian repeaters, Belarusian. What difference does it make to us? On his territory, along two oblasts bordering Ukraine, there is equipment that adjusts fire on the Ukrainian population. Can he remove this? Why words that he does not want to be in the war? Let them turn off this equipment. I think one week will be enough for him to do this. If he does not do this, we will do it,” Zelenskyy stated.

This sharp warning marks a massive escalation in border friction as Kyiv keeps a close watch on hostile activities coming from its northern neighbor.

Fortifying the frontier

This is not the first time the Ukrainian leader has addressed the safety of the northern border areas. During a visit to the city of Slavutych on May 21, he met with local leaders to plan defense strategies and issued a strong warning about aggressive actions.

Zelenskyy told community heads from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions that building massive fortifications is necessary. The country is deploying extra defensive forces to secure the perimeter against threats coming from Belarus and Russia’s Bryansk region.
