Media around the world have covered different stories on the mysterious figure Elizaveta Krivonogikh in the past few years. A woman rumored to be Putin’s secret daughter. On the 5th of August 2025, Dagens.com published an article on Krivonogikh claiming that she had spoken out against her father on Telegram, build on an article from Bild.
Since then, Bild has withdrawn their article as suspicions have been raised that the information came from a fake account.
Dagens.com has likewise removed their article on the same story. According to Bild, they are further investigating the suspicions and looking into the story, which Dagens.com will be following.
It has never been confirmed whether Krivonogikh is Putin’s daughter.
Where Did the Story of “The Secret Daughter” Come From?
In 2020, the independent Russian outlet Proekt reported that Svetlana Krivonogikh, a Russian millionaire, had a daughter who closely resembles President Vladimir Putin.
The report suggested that Krivonogikh gained her wealth through a past relationship with Putin. Her daughter, born in 2003, was later identified as Luiza Rozova. The Kremlin called the claims unfounded.
In 2024, Ukrainian media linked the name Elizaveta Rudnova to Krivonogikh. Agentstvo, a Russian investigative outlet, confirmed the connection through travel records matching the daughter’s birthdate. The surname “Rudnova” is reportedly based on Oleg Rudnov, a late friend of Putin.
The UK sanctioned Krivonogikh in 2023, calling her a shareholder in pro-Kremlin media.
