The statement suggested that Russia still expects concessions or political steps from Kyiv before any settlement can move forward.

The Kremlin spokesperson also noted that Russia remains open to further diplomatic contacts.
Peskov said some work had already taken place in a trilateral format and added that Moscow would welcome continued mediation efforts from the United States.
