Modern warfare increasingly relies on stealth, surprise, and pinpoint precision to catch an opponent off guard.
When deep reconnaissance uncovers a high-value military asset hidden far behind the front lines, a well-timed strike can completely shift local momentum.
Now, a massive overnight operation in a fiercely contested region has dealt a devastating blow to a prominent enemy division.
Akhmat’s snow falls
Ukraine has launched a highly coordinated attack against a specialized Russian training facility deep inside the occupied Donetsk region.
According to Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, the successful operation was codenamed “Akhmat’s Snow.”
The Deep Strike Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces planned the complex mission. It was carried out alongside Ukraine’s Security Service, targeting a facility in the city of Snizhne used by the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences.
Brovdi confirmed that the attack resulted in massive personnel losses for the Kremlin. The strikes killed dozens of specialized troops who were training at the compound.

Massive secondary explosions
The overnight assault was incredibly intense, featuring eleven distinct strikes. Ukrainian forces used medium-strike weapons equipped with powerful 100-kilogram warheads to smash through the compound’s defenses.
Military planners specifically targeted a large two-story building covering nearly 2,500 square meters. The facility served as a vital hub where Russian technicians assembled combat drones and advanced drone warheads.
The strike triggered a catastrophic chain reaction when explosives hit the building’s cellar. “The stockpile of ammunition in the basement added unforgettable impressions for the Russians present at the facility,” Brovdi added.
More targets remain
Ukrainian officials confirmed the casualties. “Confirmed eliminated: 65 cadets and the head of the center, Lieutenant Colonel ‘Buryi,’ a doctor at the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences. The number of sanitary losses is being clarified,” Brovdi said.
The dead cadets belonged to the 78th “Sever-Akhmat” Special Purpose Motorized Regiment. This elite unit operates under Russia’s 42nd Division.
