The Russian military lost 1,000 soldiers in a single day, with total casualties now approaching 1.4 million since the invasion began in 2022.
The Russian military continues to suffer massive casualties in its war against Ukraine.
In just one day, 1,000 Russian soldiers were killed, according to the latest figures from Ukraine’s armed forces.
The total number of Russian casualties since the start of the invasion on 24 February 2022 is now approaching a historic level.
According to Ukrinform
Losses Cross a New Milestone
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, total Russian casualties since the start of the war, as of 27 May 2026, stand at approximately 1,358,950 military personnel.
That represents an increase of 1,000 in a single day, underscoring the intensity of the ongoing fighting.
The figures come from the official Facebook page of Ukraine’s armed forces and are updated on a continuous basis.
The General Staff notes that 232 combat engagements took place along the front line in the past day alone, with the heaviest fighting recorded near Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka and Huliaipole.
Massive Losses of Heavy Equipment
Beyond the human toll, Russia has also lost significant quantities of heavy military equipment, according to Ukrainian tallies.
In a single day, 39 artillery systems, 3 armoured combat vehicles and 1 tank were destroyed.
The total number of Russian artillery systems destroyed now stands at 42,790 since the war began.
In addition, 1,307 operational-tactical drones were destroyed in a single day, bringing the total number of UAVs lost to 313,342.
Logistics and Naval Forces Under Pressure
Ukrainian forces have also struck Russian logistics in the southern sections of the front line using what Ukrinform describes as covert attack drones.
This places additional strain on Russian supply lines in an area that is already under considerable pressure.
On the naval side, losses amount to 33 warships and vessels as well as 2 submarines destroyed since 2022. The overall picture is of a war in which Russia is paying an extraordinarily high price for every day the conflict continues.
The War Continues at High Intensity
The ongoing casualty figures from Ukraine’s General Staff are not independently verified, but they represent the most systematically updated tally that is publicly available.
Ukraine’s defence authorities maintain that pressure on Russian lines is increasing and that the daily casualty figures reflect a war in full escalation.
