Vinicius Junior admits Real Madrid’s lack of experienced leaders has contributed to the club’s turbulent season, as tensions continue to grow inside the dressing room.

In an interview with Caze TV, Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior says that the lack of experienced players has had a major impact on the club’s problems this season, Diario AS reports.

Following the unrest in Real Madrid’s dressing room, including the conflict between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Fede Valverde, several media outlets have been closely following the club.

Vinicius explains that it has been a challenging period and that the team lacks the authority of experienced players such as Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Nacho Fernández, who stood side by side with them in previous seasons.

Missing experienced players

Vinicius himself admitted that they are fully aware of the squad’s lack of experience:

“We don’t have Nacho, Modric or Kroos, and Carvajal was injured. They gave a lot of experience to the team.”

He later added:

“Now I or Fede have a lot of experience on the pitch, but not in the dressing room,” he said.

At the same time, he dismissed rumours of conflict between himself and Mbappé. Instead, he described the positive influence Mbappé could have on the club’s new era, Diario AS reports.

Pressure surrounding the club

Real Madrid has been accustomed to great success for several seasons. However, the last two seasons have been marked by decline, and the players can feel the pressure that comes with it.

“I got used to winning, I got used to bad habits,” Vinicius told in the interview.

However, he also believes that the challenges of this season will ultimately become a valuable lesson for the future, Diario AS reports.

“Next season we will be a better dressing room, more united, better as a team,” he said.
