Global alliances often shift behind closed doors, leaving the rest of the world to watch the fallout.

In the shadow of ongoing international conflicts, a new intelligence leak has exposed just how deep some of these secret partnerships really go. The findings could change the way major powers interact for years to come, United24Media reports.

Secret military ties

European leaders are facing a massive diplomatic headache. According to United24Media, intelligence services have uncovered evidence that a global superpower has been quietly helping Russia build up its forces.

During a recent briefing in Brussels, a high-ranking European Union official shared some startling news. Deutsche Welle reported that the EU now has clear proof of foreign military training programs designed to help Russian troops.

The secret operations allegedly involved hundreds of soldiers who learned advanced combat skills on foreign soil. The official stated, “It has been confirmed that China trained Russian soldiers, some of whom were then sent directly to the war against Ukraine,” which completely goes against what Beijing previously told EU diplomats.

Drones and simulation

The training did not just cover basic drills. Earlier reports from international sources showed that the programs started back in late 2025 and took place across six different military bases inside China.

Instructors focused heavily on modern warfare techniques. The troops practiced operating complex drone systems, learned electronic warfare tactics, and ran advanced battlefield simulations before moving to the front lines.

Many of these trained soldiers were later linked to elite Russian drone units. Now, these specific groups are actively fighting in the frontline regions of Ukraine, giving Moscow a direct boost from Chinese expertise.

Huge diplomatic fallout

This discovery will likely cause a massive storm in upcoming political talks. European Union foreign ministers are meeting in Luxembourg to figure out their next steps and discuss their broader relationship with Beijing.

They will also look closely at how much the European defense industry relies on Chinese supply chains. Leaders want to find ways to reduce these dependencies before things get even worse.

Meanwhile, Moscow continues to flex its own muscles. Just before Russian leader Vladimir Putin traveled to China recently, Russia launched a huge three-day nuclear exercise involving 64,000 troops, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
