A new explosive report details how one of the most prominent advisors to the president has employed his wife on highly sensitive military matters.

The Secretary of Defense does not need any more bad press right now.

His department is engaged in an active military conflict with Iran. There are reports of mistreatment and horrible conditions on Navy ships he is in charge of.

Enter the wife of the leader of the Department of Defense.

A close confidante

Jennifer Hegseth has redefined what it means to be the spouse of the person in charge of the military. The former Fox News producer serves as a key adviser to her husband, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, apparently sitting in on sensitive meetings and guiding media strategy as his de facto producer.

Her role quickly drew scrutiny across Washington. According to The Wall Street Journal, she joined a confidential meeting with British defense officials regarding military intelligence for Ukraine.

The British diplomats felt uneasy speaking openly around her, The New York Times reported. Later, the British team held a smaller briefing without her to detail urgent risks facing their ground forces.

Last year, she was also added to a Signal chat where her husband shared operational plans for airstrikes targeting the Houthis in Yemen.

Stark criticism

Critics argue that her access undermines standard security rules. On MSNBC, Senator Chris Coons of Delaware slammed the apparent adviser role Jennifer holds at the Pentagon.

“Secretary Hegseth has one of the highest levels of classification access. He can’t just hand that to his wife and say, ‘Here, honey, hold my beer, and hold my classified information,’” Coons said.

Former Pentagon spokesman John Ullyot called her presence unacceptable. “It’s bonkers that a defense secretary would involve his wife in his sensitive official duties, including sharing details of an impending military operation, and face zero consequences,” he stated.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell defended her, stating she only stayed for brief introductions. He called her “an accomplished leader in her own right and a devoted military spouse” who is a “vital asset and a true force multiplier for our mission.”

A growing influence

Her public profile keeps expanding. She recently became chair of the President’s Military Spouse Commission during an Oval Office announcement with President Trump.

“This is a big deal today,” she told the President. “We’re super grateful.”

Pete Hegseth has credited his wife with turning his life around. On Megyn Kelly’s podcast, he made clear that she remains central to his personal and professional journey.

“My Jenny, my wife, Jennifer, changed my life, saved me, there’s just no doubt about it,” he said.

That professional journey has taken them to the highest office in the American military.
