The results are great news for Democrats.

Jon Ossoff secures reelection in Georgia

Some big Senate races have been decided. Here is a rundown of the most important races and who has won them:

Jon Ossoff was declared the winner of the Georgia Senate race by VoteHub after just 10% of the vote was counted. The major news networks soon followed suit and declared him the winner.

While the results were not surprising, it was still impressive that Ossoff got called as the winner before 8 p.m. Eastern Time. According to NBC News, Ossoff got the majority of African American and young American votes in Georgia, which instantly makes him an early favorite for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination.

The Florida Senate seat stays red

Republican Ashley Moody, a MAGA loyalist who joined Trump’s baseless attempt to overturn the 2020 election, was just declared the winner of the Florida Senate seat in the special election.

She beat out Democratic socialist Angie Nixon, who had a steep hill to climb after not getting the support of the Democratic establishment.

To Democrats, the race was not even on the map, but late polling showed Nixon getting closer and closer. Nixon jumped out to a strong early lead, but Moody won with over 50% of the vote.
