Disney expands

A lot have happened since Walt Disney founded Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio (which would later become The Walt Disney Company) in 1923. Other than making a plethora of movies and tv-series, the company has also opened a number of Disney themed parks around the world – and there’s a new one in the making.

Heading to the Middle East

Wednesday, The Walt Disney Company announced plans to build a new DIsney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It will be located on the Yas Island, a 25 square kilometer (9.7 square miles) artificial island.

A groundbreaking resort

“This groundbreaking resort destination represents a new frontier in theme park development,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences. “Our resort in Abu Dhabi will be the most advanced and interactive destination in our portfolio.”
