It ended as the worst day of his life.
What started as a peaceful walk with their two dogs turned into a nightmare for the dane Jesper Petersen and his wife.
While enjoying a stroll by a lake, they were startled by a loud bang.
According to Dagens.dk, the couple soon discovered that their Labrador, Tenka, had been shot and was writhing in pain, bleeding profusely.
Jesper Petersen recalls the horrifying moment, saying,
“I heard the shot, and immediately, I heard and saw Tenka whimpering and writhing in pain. It was terrible. I’ve never seen or heard anything like it.”
Approximately 50 meters ahead, Jesper spotted three young men dressed in t-shirts and shorts.
Despite his shouts, they fled the scene.
Jesper rushed Tenka to the vet while also contacting the police. Despite all efforts, Tenka had to be euthanized due to the severity of the injuries.
“It was the worst day ever, and I had to break the news to our four children,” Jesper lamented.
The police are still searching for the three young men involved in the incident.
