A group of burglars made off with more than one million euros worth of luxury handbags during a break-in at a second-hand designer store in central Paris early Sunday morning.

The theft took place just after 5 a.m. at the “Houlux” boutique, located on the prestigious Faubourg Saint-Honoré street in the 8th arrondissement, a district known for its concentration of luxury brands and elite clientele.

According to French news agency AFP and Digi24, the suspects gained access to the building by climbing to a fourth-floor balcony.

They reportedly disabled the store’s alarm system before throwing more than a hundred designer handbags out of a window, where an accomplice on the street below caught them and loaded them into a getaway vehicle.

The stolen items included bags from some of the world’s most coveted fashion houses: Hermès, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.

The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at over €1 million.

The entire operation lasted about 20 minutes, after which the thieves disappeared from the scene without a trace.

The Paris prosecutor’s office has confirmed that an investigation into aggravated theft has been opened. The case has been handed over to the Anti-Banditry Brigade (BRB), a specialized police unit tasked with tackling organized and high-value crimes.

As of now, no arrests have been made.
