Newly uncovered correspondence has pulled Sweden’s royal household into the widening Jeffrey Epstein archive, showing that Princess Sofia was once invited to the disgraced financier’s Caribbean island.

The exchanges, traced to 2005, resurfaced after being released through Epstein’s estate and later published by a U.S. congressional oversight committee.

The Swedish royal court has confirmed aspects of the contact — while stressing that the princess declined the invitation, Dagens Nyheter reports.

Who is the Swedish Princess

Princess Sofia is married to Prince Carl Philip, son of King Carl XVI Gustaf, and has held her title since their wedding in 2015.

Early encounters resurface

According to reporting from Dagens Nyheter Princess Sofia met Epstein on several occasions nearly two decades ago.

The revelation comes from emails between Swedish businesswoman Barbro Ehnbom and Epstein, recovered from documents made public last autumn.

In one message, Ehnbom shared a photograph of the princess and asked whether Epstein wished to meet her. His response: “I’m in the Caribbean. Does she want to come along for a few days? I’ll send a ticket,” according to TV2 news, which reviewed the email exchange.

Documents prompt scrutiny

While the royal household’s statement seeks to draw a firm line under the past interactions, the resurfacing of Epstein-related documents continues to raise questions across institutions connected to him during that period.
