Three of the UK’s biggest supermarkets have issued urgent food recall notices after products were found to contain undeclared ingredients that could pose serious risks to customers with allergies.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) says affected items should not be eaten under any circumstances.

Why the recalls were issued

Asda, Aldi and Tesco have each withdrawn items from shelves after discovering labelling errors involving key allergens or incorrect use-by dates.

The FSA warns that consuming the affected products could present a “health risk,” particularly for people with food allergies which, according to the NHS, can range from mild reactions to life-threatening symptoms.

Customers are advised to check labels carefully and return recalled items for a full refund.

Asda recalls Mini Duck Spring Rolls

Asda has recalled its 10 Mini Duck Spring Rolls with Hoisin Dip (220g) due to an incorrect use-by date printed on the packaging.

The label shows 29 December 2025, rather than the correct date of 29 November 2025.

Point-of-sale notices are being displayed in stores, and customers are urged not to consume the product. The FSA says it can be returned for a full refund without a receipt.

Aldi has withdrawn its Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets (278g) because the product contains egg, which is not declared on the label.

This makes it unsafe for anyone with an egg allergy or intolerance.
