President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Central Election Commission to strengthen security measures, according to state news agency TASS.
Speaking to a newly appointed group within the commission, he called for close coordination with law enforcement and security bodies.

“I ask you to pay special attention to security issues, to be in constant contact with the Interior Ministry, [Russia’s National Guard] Rosgvardiya, and other agencies,” Putin said.
According to TASS, the directive highlights the Kremlin’s focus on preventing disruptions during the electoral process.
Officials have been tasked with ensuring that all necessary safeguards are in place.

“No one, no external forces should get a single chance to interfere, influence the course and even more so the outcome of the popular vote. We will stop any attempts to use the elections to destabilize society. The relevant tasks have been assigned to the law enforcement agencies. I hope that the election commission staff will ensure strict compliance with the requirements of the law, show an example of objectivity, honesty and professionalism.”
According to TASS, Putin said law enforcement agencies have already been assigned responsibilities to counter potential threats.
He also urged election officials to uphold legal standards and demonstrate professionalism throughout the process.
The remarks reflect Moscow’s broader stance on maintaining control over election integrity amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
