In a series of Instagram stories posted on Monday, January 19, Brooklyn Beckham alleged that David and Victoria Beckham pressured him ahead of his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz.
“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children,” he wrote.
He added: “They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated.”
Wedding fallout
Brooklyn claimed that refusing to sign caused lasting damage to their relationship. “My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since,” he said.
The allegation was one of several made against his parents. In the same posts, he accused them of trying to interfere in his relationship with Peltz.

Years of silence
This is one of the first times Brooklyn has directly addressed reports of a family rift. He said he had tried to keep the matter private for years.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
No reconciliation
Brooklyn made clear that he does not intend to repair the relationship. “I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote.
He also rejected suggestions that he was being influenced by others. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
