The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of about 44,550 pounds of cooked and peeled shrimp due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Details of the Recalled Products
The shrimp were sold under the Bornstein Seafoods brand.
They were packaged in one-pound or five-pound bags with the following UPC codes:

- 614133200239

Where the Shrimp Was Sold
The shrimp were distributed directly to stores in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, Canada. However, the products may have been further distributed to stores across the United States.
Consumers are advised to check their freezers immediately.
If you have any of the recalled shrimp, do not eat them. You should either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
Health Risk
So far, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
A Listeria infection, known as listeriosis, can be dangerous, especially for people who are 65 years or older, pregnant, or immunocompromised.
Symptoms of listeriosis may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
