Police have arrested a man accused of behaving in an intimidating manner near the Sandringham Estate residence of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
LADbible reported that the incident happened on the evening of May 6 while the Duke of York’s younger brother was reportedly out walking his dogs near his new home in Norfolk.
Armed suspect detained
According to The Telegraph, a man wearing a balaclava was sitting inside a car before allegedly approaching Mountbatten-Windsor while shouting.
The report claimed the suspect spotted him from roughly 50 yards away before getting out of the vehicle.
Norfolk Police later confirmed an arrest had been made following reports of threatening behaviour in the village of Wolferton.
Police statement
“Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village,” Norfolk Police said.
“Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon.”
Police added that the suspect was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre and remained in custody for questioning.
Move to Sandringham
LADbible reported that Mountbatten-Windsor recently relocated to a property on the Sandringham Estate after leaving Royal Lodge earlier this year.
He reportedly moved in February, months after losing his royal titles.
According to the report, the property has already attracted police attention in recent months due to separate investigations linked to alleged misconduct in public office.
Security concerns
The incident has raised further questions about security around members of the Royal Family and former senior royals living outside central London estates.
Authorities have not released details about the suspected weapon or whether any injuries were reported during the confrontation.
