State Department notifies Congress of $206 million package for Gaza peacekeeping.

Efforts to reconstruct and stabilize Gaza have received their first major financial commitment from Washington.

According to Digi24, the U.S. State Department notified Congress of plans to route over $206 million toward an international peacekeeping framework, indicating that presidential leadership intends to move forward with its regional blueprint despite ongoing diplomatic friction on the ground.

Official notifications delivered to Capitol Hill outline the initial distribution of resources for the multi-nation stabilization effort.

Capital deployment for international peacekeeping units

Notifications sent on July 30 detail $200 million earmarked directly for equipment, operational infrastructure, transit vehicles, and overall logistics for the International Stabilization Force (ISF). An additional $6 million is slated to modify and repurpose American armored vehicles to support troop operations inside the enclave.

Outlining operational mandates, State Department communications clarified the force’s responsibilities on the ground.

“ISF will lead security operations, support complete demilitarization and enable safe delivery of humanitarian assistance and reconstruction materials to the Gaza Strip,” read one of the official notices sent to Capitol Hill.

Negotiations regarding exact troop composition and total operational expenses remain active between international partners.

Diplomatic deadlock bogs down implementation

Progress on the ground remains stalled despite financial commitments from Washington. Following the establishment of the “Peace Council” to oversee war termination and reconstruction efforts, implementation has hit resistance from both Israeli leadership and Hamas representatives reluctant to accept proposed framework terms.

Diplomatic outreach led by presidential envoy Jared Kushner failed to yield a breakthrough during recent regional visits. Following discussions with Hamas representatives on Sunday and meetings with Israeli leaders in Jerusalem on Monday, Kushner departed the Middle East without securing critical concessions needed to advance the peace plan.
