The host, identified as Luis Manuel Medina, was presenting his daily show at 103.5 HICC FM in San Pedro de Macorís when unidentified assailants entered the studio and opened fire.

This is reported by CNN.

The attack, which was partially captured on a Facebook Live stream, also injured the station's secretary. The director of the station, Leonidas Martinez, was found dead in an adjacent office.

Medina was known for his firm stance on local issues and his candid commentary, which some speculate could have played a role in the attack.
