Steven Seagal has become increasingly involved in political circles.

His ties to Russia and public support for the Kremlin have drawn attention far beyond Hollywood.

Now, his name has surfaced in a very different context.

Actor named

Ukraine’s National Police have listed Seagal among individuals who allegedly received so-called “trophy” weapons from occupied eastern regions.

In a statement, authorities said: “Kim Jong Un, Bashar Hafez al-Assad, Dmitry Medvedev, Sergei Sobyanin, Sergei Lavrov, Ramzan Kadyrov, Steven Seagal, Yulia Chicherina, Vladimir Solovyov, Alexander Sidyakin and Vladimir Saldo, these are the individuals who received “trophy” weapons from the leader of the so-called “DPRK”, Denis Pushilin.”

According to the Kyiv Post cited by Digi24, Seagal obtained Russian citizenship in 2016 and has since aligned himself with pro-Kremlin positions.

Smuggling network

Police said the weapons involved in the case were either taken from occupied Ukrainian territories or brought in illegally from abroad.

Investigators traced part of the operation to Slovakia, where firearms were reportedly modified before being redistributed.

“Later, they were sold to criminals, transferred to illegal armed groups, and also used as a means to ‘encourage’ people who do not have the legal right to possess combat weapons,” the statement said.

Cross-border arrests

The investigation has extended beyond Ukraine, with arrests made in cooperation with foreign authorities.

“As a result of cooperation with Polish law enforcement agencies, some of the suspects were detained at the Polish border while trying to illegally import weapons into the territory of this state. The weapons were confiscated, and the indictments were sent to a court in Poland,” police said.

Officials said the operation uncovered a wider network of illegal trafficking routes.

Weapons seized

Further searches were carried out across multiple regions as part of the investigation.

“More than 30 simultaneous searches were carried out in Kiev, the Kiev region, Zakarpattia and Sumy regions. Their results confirmed the scale of illegal arms flows directed to the temporarily occupied territories,” the statement said.

Authorities reported seizing firearms, grenade launchers, explosives and large quantities of ammunition.
