“Changes are coming!”

In a post on Truth Social published last week, the President wrote that “Changes are coming!” regarding the deportation of immigrants.

Farmers are unhappy

According to multiple media, including Axios and The New York Times, the day before the post to Truth Social, Trump had recieved a call from his Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, warning him that the US farmers are becoming increasingly unhappy with the immigration policy.

The reason for the unhappiness is that the farmers fear that reliable workers risk being arrested and deported due to being unauthorized immigrants – or that the workers will simply stop coming to work out of fear of being arrested.
Not the first warning

According to American media, it’s not the first time, Trump has been warned of the possible consequences of his immigrations policy, but this time he seems to have listened – and acted.
“We must protect our Farmers”

In the post on Truth Social, Trump wrote:
“Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace (…) This is not good. We must protect our Farmers.”
New ICE-guidelines

Following the post, new guidelines have been issued to ICE-employees all over the US.
The new guidelines state that investigation of criminal conduct in the relevant industries is still allowed, but that arresting non-criminals should seize.
4.6 % of the workforce
